How younger the child is, the easier it is to learn Dutch and speak Dutch on a high level!
I started working with toddlers in 2014. And still I am working with toddlers especially before the start of school in group 1. I try to make them ready for school: playing games and learning to lose, making paintings, teaching the letters of alphabet and numbers (at least 0 to 5 but I try 0 to 10 or more), singing a lot Dutch songs, going outside to teach Dutch words, working with materials of the seasons (for example: acorns and conkers to practise numbers), vocabulary game on computer. And most important; I talk a lot with the child to improve the speaking ability.
What I am going to work on with toddlers:
1. Talking and listening carefully to child for improving speaking ability
2. Reading books
3. Playing interactive games
4. Teaching how to deal with losing games
5. Teaching the letters of alphabet (phonetic)
6. Teaching numbers till 10
7. Singing most popular Dutch children songs
8. Making paintings
9. Teaching Dutch vocabulary
10. Doing vocabulary games for group 1 on paper and computer
11. Supplying materials of season (for example: acorns, conkers, pine cones)
