I followed a course at The ABC in Amsterdam (Education Experts) on how to work with children living in The Netherlands for shorter than one year.
For the past eleven years I worked with many children who were new in the Netherlands. During these years I developed ways on how to work with them in the best way.
In the course I learnt that it is very important that the child feels at home in the Netherlands and that the child is allowed to speak in its first language (also at school).
If the child is social-emotionally settled in the Netherlands, the development of Dutch language can start!
